Job summary

Activate Interactive Singapore is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the backend systems for a mission-critical Regulatory Licensing Platform. You will lead end-to-end development, architecture, and day-2 operations in a lean, high-impact product team within a highly restricted government cloud environment.

The role requires a systems-first mindset, ownership of the entire lifecycle, and strong skills in Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, and secure data handling.

Qualifications

• 6/7+ years of Backend Engineering Experience in production systems.
• Independence in building, deploying, and maintaining complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems end-to-end from greenfield to production.
• Develop resilient APIs with Node.js/TypeScript and PostgreSQL.
• Take operational responsibility for self-hosted components (EC2, EKS).
• Automate patching, hardening, and recovery; manage secure transports (SFTP/SSH).
• Build and maintain multi-zone networking and secure communications (VPC, IAM).
• Integrate third-party services with auditable handshakes.
• Design a robust monitoring plane with Metrics and tracing.
