Job summary

Binance in Singapore is seeking a Senior Backend Architect to define and guide the long-term architecture for the platform. You will drive design across services to ensure scalability, reliability, and security, while aligning with business goals.

You will mentor a team of architects and engineers, push for observability and modern infrastructure, and lead hiring and onboarding to build a high-performance backend organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years backend engineering, including 3+ years in lead roles.
• Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems.
• Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Expertise in backend languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js).
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, API design.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern infrastructure practices.
• Strong understanding of database design, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term backend architecture strategy aligned with goals.
• Oversee system design across services for scalability, reliability and security.
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and trade-offs.

• Drive hiring and onboarding for the backend architecture team.
• Foster culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate cross-team initiatives and resolve conflicts.
