Job summary

InCommodities Asia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Power Trader to focus on Australian ASX and OTC electricity markets from Singapore and Sydney. You’ll work with quants, tech and risk teams to design, execute and evaluate strategies across the futures curve, with emphasis on performance, risk controls, and automation.

You will lead execution, nurture broker relationships, and drive optimization across prop and portfolio positions while collaborating with operations and strategy teams across

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience trading the Australian energy markets.
• Proven track record of book management.
• Fluency in weather, demand, outages, fuel and transmission constraints with statistical methods.
• Strong communication with traders, quants, ops and risk.
• Calm, methodical and accountable with process discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own the ASX and OTC broker and screen execution function for our Australian power business.
• Work alongside a highly experienced team in day-to-day operations.
• Build and maintain a strong network of relationships across brokers and counterparties.
• Optimise and execute on existing prop and portfolio positions.
• Design and execute strategies across the curve including Spot, Options, Caps and other OTC products.
• Partner with quants to test hypotheses and AI/ML models, iterating on performance and signal health.
• Coordinate with operations and risk teams to keep trades executable and settlements clean.
• Run post-trade evaluations – attribution, slippage, lessons learned.
• Contribute to model design and automation for backtesting, monitoring and reporting.
