Job summary

Formative in Australia seeks an experienced screen-trading professional for the East Coast power desk. You will own execution, risk-taking and full-curve trading on NEM, with autonomy from day one.

Based in Singapore or Sydney, you will operate with data-driven signals and live fundamentals, manage your own capital within risk limits, and travel across the APAC region as required. This is fast-moving, performance-driven work with top fund-style compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of speculative/proprietary trading experience, ideally in Australian power.
• Have managed capital and positions with real risk limits and own P&L.
• Deep NEM knowledge; data-rich, fundamentals-heavy market.
• Autonomous, calm under pressure, team player in a small group.
• Willing to travel regularly within the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• Trade East Coast Australian electricity (NEM) across the full curve.
• Run your own speculative positions with full autonomy.
• Execute across ASX futures and OTC with multiple brokers.
• Hedge renewables and storage portfolio on futures.
• Interpret and act on proprietary analytics and live data.
• Communicate with the head of desk with minimal supervision.
