Job summary

DBS Bank, based in Singapore, is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join its regional product delivery team. You will convert BDD tests to automated scripts across Android, iOS, web, and REST APIs, collaborating with delivery teams in an agile environment.

You will design and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Appium, Playwright, and Pytest, ensuring end-to-end quality and timely releases across digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in Web and Mobile Banking solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Appium, Selenium, JUnit; Playwright (Java), Pytest (Python), Selenium (Java).
• Strong coding knowledge in Java, Objective-C, JavaScript or similar.
• Experience developing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with API testing and tools like SOAP UI; familiar with UNIX/Linux and CI/CD tools.

Job Purpose:

In our team at regional product delivery, we collaborate with our key stakeholders in technology and product to deliver best in class digital solutions across the different digital platforms such as Chatbot, Paylah!, SMS banking, Wealth platform besides the traditional internet and mobile banking.

We provide insights and expertise with our strong domain knowledge to make sound banking journey for the new initiatives we embarked on delivering. One of the key responsibilities of our function is to ensure end to end execution of the user acceptance testing using both manual and automation tools to provide quality and timely output before release to market.

As Automation Test Engineer you are primarily responsible to convert the BDD tests written gherkin language to automated scripts across applicable digital platform across our complete product suites. You will be required to collaborate widely with the various applications team supporting our delivery model especially though not limited to the agile model.

You will need to understand business requirement, Author test cases, execute them and ensure quality products are being delivered.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases, for our Android and iOS applications, web browsers, and REST API across different digital platform offerings. Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium with Java, Appium with Java, Playwright with Java and Pytest with Python.
• Establish testing as an integral part of the development process within cross-functional teams
• Develop maintainable automated checks in collaboration with our development teams
• Proactively suggest improvements in testing tools for better test coverage
• Detect and report defects and close follow up to ensure closure of issues
• Use exploratory testing techniques to discover and prevent issues
• Assess and bring improvements to the quality of our applications and services

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of working experience, preferably in Web and Mobile Banking solutions
• Strong knowledge of Appium, Selenium, JUNIT. Strong knowledge of Playwright (Java), Pytest (Python), Selenium (Java) and modern test automation framework design.
• Strong coding knowledge in Java, Objective-C, JavaScript or similar.
• Good experience in developing complex SQL queries.
• Knowledge of SOAP UI and web service testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic UNIX Commands and ability to work with Linux flavor.
• GIT commands and their usage.
• Strong analytic skills to process complex requirements to come up with end-to-end scenarios and test cases.
• Familiar with Agile methodology and understanding the life cycle of testing in both automated and manual testing.
• Have experience in running or being part of an agile project team in banking industry.
• Experience in API testing and working on JIRA, Jenkins, Dockers etc.
• Solid coding background in Java, Objective-C, JavaScript or similar with at least 3yrs of experience. Hands‑on experience with Selenium (Java), Appium (Java), Playwright (Java) and Pytest (Python) test automation frameworks.
• Experience with at least one of the following technologies: Cucumber, Appium, Selenium, XCode UI Automation, (mobile testing tools and frameworks).
• Experience with basic UNIX commands and working knowledge on LINUX flavor.
• Hands‑on experience tool like and SOAP UI, REST API.
• Working knowledge of Bitbucket; experience with other source control tools is an advantage.
