Job summary

DBS Bank, Asia Hub in Singapore, seeks an AVP Software Engineer in Test to lead testing for Core Banking solutions and integrations. You will translate strategy into robust test plans, scenarios and automation, including AI-powered accelerators.

You will design and maintain automated testing across APIs, UI, file interfaces and messaging, ensuring data quality, test data validity and end-to-end coverage with hands-on automation in Playwright, Selenium, Karate or Postman, focusing on mainframe

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing with leadership and hands-on automation.

Job Purpose

As an AVP Software Engineer in Test, you will act as a Test Lead responsible for planning, preparing, coordinating and executing testing activities for Core Banking solutions and their integrations.

The successful candidate is expected to understand the testing strategy defined for the program and translate it into effective test plans, test scenarios and test cases. The role will focus on preparing the required testing toolset, including AI-powered test case generation, test data generation and other testing accelerators.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated testing capabilities covering test execution, validation and assertion, while ensuring that the required testing tools, environments and data are accurate and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the testing strategy defined for the program and translate it into test plans, test scenarios, detailed test cases and test data patterns.
• Coordinate and execute functional and non-functional testing across Core Banking applications and integrated systems.
• Prepare and maintain the required testing toolset, including AI-powered test case generation, test data generation and other testing accelerators.
• Identify suitable test cases for automation and continuously improve automation coverage.
• Execute testing across APIs, UI, file-based interfaces, messaging queues and service mesh-based flows, across entire ecosystem of DBS applications.
• Properly track the progress on the preparation work, as well as on execution.
• Coordinate assigned testing activities with Business Analysts, Developers, Platform Teams, application teams and business users.
• Contribute to test-cycle completion reports, testing dashboards and automation metrics.
• Take full responsibility and accountability for the quality and timely completion of assigned testing activities.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing, including test leadership and hands‑on test automation, in banking industry.
• Strong understanding of Core Banking systems, business processes, architecture, functionality and data structures.
• Knowledge and experience with the SunCBS solution by Sunline, including its architecture, functionality, data structures and integration patterns.
• Knowledge and experience with Finacle by Infosys as a Core Banking framework, including its architecture, functionality, data structures and integration patterns.
• Knowledge and experience in testing against mainframe-based systems, would be strong advantage.
• Experience in preparing test plans, test scenarios, detailed test cases, automated scripts and traceability matrices.
• Hands‑on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Karate, Postman or similar.
• Good understanding of AI‑assisted software testing, test case generation, test data generation and test automation tools.
• Experience in prompt engineering, to use AI to ensure comprehensive testing scope coverage and robust assertion of success criteria.
• Experience working with service mesh architecture, microservices architecture and distributed systems, mainframe technology.
• Experience testing APIs, databases, batch processes, messaging queues and enterprise application integrations.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Java or a comparable language.
• Good working knowledge of SQL and test data validation.
• Experience with Jira or similar test‑management and defect‑management tools.
• Good knowledge of Agile delivery, SDLC, testing methodologies and defect‑management processes.
• Graduation degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
