The National University Hospital (NUH) is a tertiary hospital and major referral centre offering a comprehensive suite of specialist care for adults, women and children. As Singapore’s first university hospital, NUH is one of the few hospitals able to care for our patients from cradle to grave by harnessing its clinical, education and research capabilities across its holistic suite of specialties.

The Kent Ridge Office of Resources (KROR) was established in 2024 to develop and coordinate NUH’s financial resilience and long-term viability given multi-faceted challenges such as caring for an aging population amidst escalating healthcare cost. This position will help coordinate and implement initiatives which optimize resource utilization, increase productivity, contain cost and identify new revenue growth opportunities. The candidate will be working closely with the members of KROR as well as the Community of Practice (COP) Institution Optimisation track across NUHS on various initiatives such as manpower productivity and contract life cycle management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with NUH CFO to develop and execute financial sustainability initiatives to support the hospital’s 2030 strategic plan
  • Lead projects to reduce operational and clinical wastage without compromising high quality and effectiveness standards
  • Support the implementation of Appropriate and Value Based Care (AVCB) initiatives within NUH
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue streams
  • Work with respective KROR members to establish 5 year targets through a variety of initiatives focusing on AVCB, manpower productivity, vendor and contract management, IT rationalization, operational efficiency and revenue growth
  • Prepare KROR reporting updates to various stakeholders including NUH Staff Group and NUHS COP
  • Support other hospital financial sustainability initiatives such as (but not limited to) developing training materials for different audiences (ELDP, Global Academy etc) and writing strategy papers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant business or finance disciplines
  • Hands on with at least 10 - 15 years of relevant experience
  • Energetic business partner capable of effectively engaging multi-disciplinary stakeholders across all levels
  • Proven track record in delivering revenue grown or cost savings initiatives in a complex organisation
  • Business friendly and effective in context setting and distilling key messages from data analysis
  • Experience in healthcare sector, decision support, change management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel (advanced), VBA Macros, PowerPoint and Word, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
