FORM Careers is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer or Architect for an established international practice in Singapore. The role entails leading projects from concept to completion, coordinating with clients and consultants, and delivering high-quality design solutions for Southeast Asia.

The candidate will initially join a Data Centre project in Indonesia, with regular site travel and eventual integration into the Singapore studio.

Qualifications

• Architectural design and delivery process experience.
• Strong client, consultant and contractor liaison skills.

• Advanced BIM capabilities using Revit; familiarity with Rhino/Grasshopper is advantageous.

Job description

FORM Careers is recruiting a Senior Architectural Designer or Architect on behalf of an established international architecture and design practice in Singapore.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer to join a collaborative team delivering major projects across Singapore and Southeast Asia. The role suits a designer with strong design and technical skills, from concept through delivery.

Due to the current project portfolio, fluency in Bahasa is an essential requirement for this position. Experience during the construction stage of projects in Indonesia is also highly desirable.

The successful candidate will initially join a Data Centre project in Indonesia as it enters its construction phase. As part of this role, you will be expected to travel to Indonesia and spend approximately 3 days (within the same week) each month overseeing site-stage activities, coordinating with local stakeholders, and supporting project delivery on the ground.

Following the completion of this project, the successful candidate will become an integral member of the wider Singapore studio, supporting a diverse portfolio of work across Southeast Asia. Future projects are expected to include Data Centres, Industrial developments, Education facilities, Rail and Transportation projects, and other large-scale mixed-use developments across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to projects from concept design through to completion.
• Support the delivery of a major Data Centre project in Indonesia during its construction phase.
• Undertake regular travel to Indonesia to manage site-stage activities and coordinate project stakeholders.
• Deliver high-quality design solutions that respond to client, commercial and technical requirements.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and project teams.
• Produce and oversee presentations, design documentation and project deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project resources effectively.
• Support project delivery to programme and budget requirements.
• Contribute to a collaborative studio culture and mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of the architectural design and delivery process.
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
• Proven experience working directly with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Experience with a range of procurement routes including Design & Build, Construction Management and Traditional contracts.
• Advanced Revit and BIM capability.
• Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper and other computational design tools is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore and regional building systems, regulations and construction methodologies.
• Strong project coordination and team management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Part II with experience in professional practice or a Part III equivalent candidate.
• Fluent or professional working proficiency in Bahasa.
• Demonstrable project experience in Indonesia.
• Experience delivering projects through construction stages and coordinating local stakeholders, consultants and authorities.
• Strong Revit and BIM capability.
• Willingness to undertake regular travel to Indonesia as part of the role.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience working on mission-critical or critical infrastructure projects.
• Rail or transportation project experience.
• Singapore project experience and knowledge of local regulations.
• BCA Green Mark Manager and/or Design for Safety (DfS) certification.
