Job summary

YouTrip is seeking a Principal Architect, Payments & Ledger to own the end-to-end money movement architecture across multi-currency wallets, ledger, card issuing, FX, and cross-border transfers for both YouTrip and YouBiz. You will shape non-functional requirements, scale, and regulatory alignment across markets.

You will mentor technical leads, drive architecture decisions, and collaborate with partners, vendors, and regulators to ensure secure, compliant, and highly available payment systems

Qualifications

• Deep payments and ledger experience required, with journal design and balance consistency.
• Card issuing expertise and issuer processing experience.
• Experience with Golang, event-driven architectures and cloud-native infrastructures is a plus.
• Strong writing and ability to defend design choices.

Responsibilities

• Define ledger architecture including double-entry, CoA, and multi-currency handling.
• Ensure idempotent money movement and robust failure/retry paths.
• Design card issuing flows including real-time authorisation and disputes.
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with partners to integrate processors, banks, and AML controls.
