Job summary

EA Reg No: R2090886 is seeking a senior lawyer to join its APAC Business and Legal Affairs team in Singapore, acting as a key partner to senior stakeholders and supporting strategic, commercial and operational initiatives across Asia.

The role requires an admitted lawyer with 7–10 years PQE, English fluency, strong negotiation and IP rights experience, and proven ability to manage risk in a complex media environment; line-manage 3 counsels and work across divisions.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted as a lawyer in a common law jurisdiction (Singapore/UK preferred).
• 7–10 years post-qualification experience.
• Fluent in English.
• Extensive negotiating, rights management, contracting and copyright experience.
• Experience managing risk in a complex, evolving environment.
• In-house legal experience, ideally in a media business.
• Knowledge of the legal/regulatory framework for broadcast, streaming, content distribution and advertising.
• Team-oriented with professionalism and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents related to Channel and Branded Services distribution and streaming, Content Distribution, Advertising and Brands & Licensing.
• Provide accurate, timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal clients including senior stakeholders.
• Foster and develop collaborative, creative and commercial relationships at senior levels across the Group.
• Mitigate legal, contractual and business risk and support dispute resolution for content, brand and IP issues.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws and translate into coherent deal-level practices.
• Line-manage 3 legal counsels; lead by example in teamwork, integrity and empowerment.
