ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As part of the VF Material team in Apparel Sourcing organization, the Senior Costing Analyst plays a critical role in driving cost transparency, efficiency, and strategic decision‑making across the Material sourcing function. Reporting directly to the Director of Material Sourcing, this role is responsible for analyzing fabric cost structures, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and supporting supplier negotiations through data‑driven insights. Bring strong analytical skills, deep understanding of textile cost components, and a collaborative mindset to support cross‑functional teams and global sourcing strategies.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
  • Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and validate fabric cost breakdowns from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal benchmarks.
  • Develop and maintain cost models for various fabric types, incorporating raw material, processing, finishing, and logistics components.
  • Track and report cost trends, market fluctuations, and currency impacts affecting fabric pricing.
  • Prepare detailed cost comparison reports to support sourcing decisions and seasonal planning.
  • Strategic Support & Negotiation: Partner with the Director of Material Sourcing to support seasonal cost negotiations with Tier 2 suppliers. Identify cost‑saving opportunities through material consolidation, supplier leverage, and process optimization. Provide cost insights to design, development, and sourcing teams to guide material selection and development.
  • Data Management & Process Optimization: Maintain a centralized database of fabric cost data, supplier quotes, and historical pricing. Support the digitization of costing workflows and integration with PLM systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with materials development, product costing, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment on cost targets and strategies. Support on driving alignment with brand and cross function teams on GTM process to ensure the operational efficiency.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
  • Technical Skills
    • Cost Modelling & Analysis: Strong ability to build and interpret detailed cost breakdowns for fabrics and materials.
    • Textile Knowledge: Understanding of fabric construction, finishing processes, and cost drivers in textile manufacturing.
    • Data Management: Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros), and experience with PLM.
    • Market Awareness: Familiarity with global textile markets, commodity pricing, and supplier cost structures.
    • Financial Acumen: Ability to interpret cost data and translate it into actionable insights for sourcing and development teams.
    • Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying cost inefficiencies and proposing strategic solutions.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.

    • Cross-Functional Partnership: Experience working with sourcing, development, finance, and supplier teams.
    • Negotiation Support: Ability to support cost negotiations with data and insights.
