Job summary

ABeam Consulting (Singapore) Pte Ltd seeks an AML governance specialist to document and strengthen governance, data flows, and controls across banking clients. You will collaborate with Compliance, IT, and regional teams to drive remediation and sustain improvements.

The role requires 3+ years in relevant fields, experience with AML frameworks, and strong analytical skills. A Japanese language proficiency is mandatory for stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in banking, financial services, or consulting.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, regulations, and operational processes (KYC, Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening).
• Experience evaluating governance frameworks, risk management, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical ability to map complex processes, governance structures, and controls.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese is mandatory to engage with Japanese-speaking stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand and document AML model risk governance and data governance processes, systems and controls.
• Conduct gap analyses against internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Assess design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of processes and controls across AML functions.
• Develop remediation plans and drive implementation with stakeholders to close gaps.
• Analyze transactions and alerts to evaluate control effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Prepare findings, risk evaluations, and management reports for stakeholders.
