Job summary

Workato is building the MCP Gateway and AI Gateway to connect enterprise systems with AI through high-performance, production-grade services. You will own the data layer, concurrency design, and observability while partnering with AI tooling and protocol layers.

The role emphasizes building scalable backend infrastructure in Go and/or Ruby, with deep PostgreSQL knowledge and strong focus on low latency, throughput, and reliable deployments in a containerized environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Go or Ruby, with production services experience.
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge: indexing, queries, transactions.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with LLM protocols, tool calling, streaming.

Responsibilities

• Design and build MCP Gateway and AI Gateway; production services.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency network services (TCP, TLS, HTTP/2).
• Own data layer design and query optimization from the app side.
• Design for concurrency; implement worker pools and backpressure.
• Drive observability: metrics, tracing, and logs for AI systems.
