Job summary

Workato Singapore is seeking a senior engineer to design and build production-grade MCP/AI gateways. You will own protocol-level routing, data-layer optimization in PostgreSQL, and high-throughput network services with a focus on concurrency and observability.

You will work across the stack, from TCP/TLS networking to AI protocol interfaces, enabling secure, scalable integrations between enterprise systems and AI models. This role emphasizes ownership and end-to-end delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience (5+ years) in Go, Ruby, or both.
• Go candidates: strong stdlib, net/http, TLS, context, goroutines, performance optimization, and deep networking knowledge.
• Ruby candidates: strong Rails production experience, optimized ActiveRecord, and high-load services.
• PostgreSQL depth from an application developer's perspective: indexing, transactions, connection pooling, migrations.
• Concurrency and profiling as a practiced skill with production incident debugging.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containers; deployment, health checks, rolling deploys.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MCP Gateway and AI Gateway; implement protocol-level routing, auth, and tenant isolation.
• Build high-throughput, low-latency network services near the wire (TCP, TLS, HTTP/1.1/2, JSON streaming).
• Own the data layer from the application side; optimize PostgreSQL usage and queries.
• Design for concurrency with worker pools, queues, backpressure, and profiling to diagnose bottlenecks.
• Drive observability: metrics, tracing, and logging that reveal latency, token usage, and failure modes.
