Job summary

Tyco Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd (TE Connectivity) is seeking a Staff R&D Scientist/Engineer to join our Corporate R&D Center in Singapore. The role is a senior technical contributor within the AI team, leading development and deployment of AI technologies spanning data science, ML, generative and agentic AI, simulation, CAD, manufacturing, and data-driven product and process development.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or closely related field.
• Experience leading technically complex R&D or AI projects with measurable impact.
• Deep understanding of data science and AI, including model development and validation.
• Hands-on knowledge of generative AI and agentic AI concepts and technologies.
• Experience with multiphysics simulation, CAD workflows, and AI-assisted design.
• Strong Python programming and data science framework experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and data-driven AI modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for engineering AI initiatives and define roadmaps for the Singapore AI Hub.
• Lead cross-functional projects applying data science and AI to new product development and manufacturing workflows.
• Develop AI/ML solutions using CAD, simulation, and enterprise data, including surrogate modeling and optimization.
• Develop agentic AI solutions and integrate with CAD/CAE tools and PLM systems.
• Establish evaluation approaches for AI solutions covering performance, robustness, and business impact.
• Collaborate with diverse teams across TE and external partners to deliver value.
