Job summary

GovTech seeks a capable professional to support the APAC Chairmanship and regional partnerships, coordinating governance, events and strategic communications across APAC and Global ACI.

You will analyse developments, prepare briefs and presentations, and engage stakeholders across cultures to advance international affairs initiatives within the Singapore Public Service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Experience in international relations, policy development, strategic planning or stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to analyse complex developments and translate them into strategic implications.
  • Experience in preparing management briefs, policy papers and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, across cultures.

Job description

What the role is

The team supports Singapore's active role in regional and international accreditation through the APAC Chairmanship, driving strategic priorities and strengthening partnerships across the Asia-Pacific.

  • 1. Drive the APAC Chairmanship/Strategic Plan Agendas Support the APAC Chair in key functional and governance roles/duties: E.g. Reviewing structure/systems/processes/documentation, defining desired outcomes and shaping the direction of key APAC strategic plan and related initiatives Support the planning and delivery, which include administrative support to fulfil APAC and Global ACI roles and commitment, as well as events, negotiations, and exchanges – Incl. Review and prepare strategic briefs, talking points, meeting papers and presentations for the APAC Chair's engagements across APAC and Global ACI. Track developments and propose recommendations/follow-ups from APAC, Global ACI Executive Committees, General Assemblies, and related meetings, and ensure timely follow-through.
  • 2. Monitor and review updates, developments Conduct horizon scanning of developments across APAC and Global ACI, including constitutional amendments, standards transitions and emerging areas, to brief the APAC Chair and ensure timely, well-informed responses. Identify and flag any developments or stakeholder dynamics arising from Chairmanship engagements that may have broader relevance to SAC's international affairs work. Identify opportunities for SAC officers to contribute to APAC committees, working groups and peer evaluation activities, and coordinate nominations in line with APAC's processes and requirements.
  • 3. Strengthen Regional Partnerships and Support Internal Coordination Identify, evaluate, and recommend engagements with accreditation bodies, scheme owners and stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific and ASEAN regions, particularly in economies and sectors where greater collaboration can be developed. Support the APAC Chair in outreach, bilateral and multilateral engagements, activities/events with regional accreditation counterparts and other stakeholders, ensuring each engagement has clear objectives and follow-through. Coordinate and align efforts and plans with broader division plans and intentions Establish workflows and internal practices to ensure timely discussions, follow-ups and decision-making on above functions/roles
What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field. Candidates with a background in Engineering or Science and relevant international or policy experience are also welcome to apply. At least three years of relevant experience in international relations, policy development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, programme management or a related field. Strong ability to analyse complex developments and translate them into clear strategic implications and recommendations. Experience in preparing management briefs, policy papers, presentations and senior-level meeting materials. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work across cultures and organisational boundaries. Good project-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and follow through on priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experiences in standards, accreditation, conformity assessment, regulation, international organisations or trade-related work would be an advantage.
