Job summary

Jurong Port Universal Terminal PTE. LTD. on Jurong Island is hiring a Senior Accountant to report to the Senior Finance Manager and handle full-cycle accounting, including GL, AR, AP, fixed assets, and tax reporting.

The role requires a degree in accounting and at least 5 years of accounting experience; O&G industry exposure is a plus. You will ensure accurate reporting, assist audits, and contribute to internal controls improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy/Business or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with supervision of junior staff.
• Solid understanding of SFRS and double-entry bookkeeping in ERP Oracle.
• Proficient MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounting including GL, AR, AP, fixed assets and tax reporting.
• Monitor working capital, cash flow forecasts, bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
• Coordinate audits and assist liaising with auditors and authorities.
• Support internal controls improvements and ad hoc projects.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant reporting to the Senior Finance Manager to join our Finance team at JURONG PORT UNIVERSAL TERMINAL PTE. LTD. This is a full-time position based on Jurong Island. In this role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, and tax reporting, including GST returns and corporate income tax filings.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for full cycle accounting, managing all aspects of general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, assets accounting and tax reporting (including GST returns and corporate income tax filings).
• Monitor status of working capital to manage the operating cash flows, ensuring accurate cashflow forecasts, deposits and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, including reconciliation analysis for balance sheet items.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and shareholders.
• Work closely with finance team to ensure SFRS accounting compliance and to contribute towards improvement of effective internal controls and efficient financial procedures.
• Coordinate and run annual statutory audit and internal audits.
• Assist Finance Manager to liaise with external parties including auditors, tax agents, corporate secretary, and government authorities.
• Prepare business and statistic surveys.
• Assist in other projects and adhoc assignments as required

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy/Business or equivalent
• At least 5 years of accounting experience and supervision of junior accounts executives (O&G industry experience will be advantageous)
• Good understanding of SFRS and full double-entry bookkeeping in ERP Oracle or similar
• Analytical and meticulous with excellent MS Office, Excel and Powerpoint proficiency
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, hands-on and flexible with the ability to work with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
