Job summary

APSN in Singapore seeks a dedicated educator to plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized educational services for students with special needs in both self-contained and integrated settings. You will collaborate with school personnel to design interventions and assess progress, while engaging families in home-school partnerships.

The role emphasizes student-centric lesson design, use of ICT in teaching, and active participation in staff meetings and school events to promote inclusive education

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree from recognised Institutions with GCE ‘O’ level credits in English and Mathematics.
• Prior experience with Students with Mid Intellectual Disabilities (MID) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special needs education and behaviour modification; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and classroom management; able to work with parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor effective teaching & learning pedagogies and intervention strategies for SEN students.
• Design and implement valid and reliable assessments to evaluate progress.
• Identify and design support structures for SEN students.
• Plan and implement school-wide educational and recreational programmes with leaders.
• Collaborate with professionals, parents, and external agencies to support students' well-being.
• Develop engaging, pupil-centred lessons accommodating individual learning styles.
• Advocate for instructional resources to enhance learning.
• Review learning activities and reinforce concepts with tailored strategies.
• Utilise information technology in lesson prep and teaching to engage learners.
• Conduct parent conferences, home-school communications, and IEP-focused reviews.
• Manage pupil behaviour and supervise students on school premises to uphold values.
