Job summary

PERSOL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a lab technician to support process development in 2D materials. You will assist engineers in planning experiments, collect data, and report findings within safety guidelines in a Singapore lab.

You will perform material characterization using SEM, EDX, Raman, PL, and ellipsometry, and help prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables. The role requires a Diploma in a related field and interest in thin film deposition.

Qualifications

• Diploma in materials science or related engineering field.
• Experience in thin film deposition is a plus.
• Familiarity with 2D materials like WS2/WSe2/MoS2 is desirable.
• Basic lab safety and chemical handling knowledge.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in planning and executing experiments (e.g., ALD/CVD, post-processing, and related process development), including data collection, preliminary analysis, and reporting within established safety guidelines.
• Perform material characterization using techniques such as SEM, EDX, Raman, PL, and ellipsometry to evaluate film quality and uniformity.
• Prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables, and support day-to-day operation of process tools and lab equipment.
• Generate clear internal documentation including run logs, SOPs, and summaries for technical reviews and presentations.
• Strictly adhere to EHS protocols, including safe handling of chemicals and gases (e.g., chalcogen precursors), and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to process optimization, tool readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives in 2D materials development.

Technical Skills

• Diploma in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• ≥1-year hands‑on experience in thin film deposition (e.g., ALD, CVD, or thermal processing) is a plus.
• Exposure to 2D materials such as WS2, WSe2, MoS2 or related TMDs is desirable.
• Familiarity with characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, Raman, ellipsometry) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of chemical safety, gas handling, and cleanroom/lab protocols.
