Job summary

PERSOL Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Diploma‑level materials technician to support engineers in planning experiments, performing thin film deposition, and conducting preliminary data analysis in a lab environment in Singapore.

You will handle substrates and consumables, operate process tools, document run logs and SOPs, and help ensure safety and regulatory compliance while contributing to 2D materials development and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Requires a Diploma in a relevant science/engineering field.
• ≥1 year hands-on thin film deposition experience is a plus.
• Exposure to 2D materials such as WS2, WSe2, MoS2 or related TMDs is desirable.
• Familiarity with characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, Raman, ellipsometry) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of chemical safety, gas handling, and cleanroom protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in planning and executing experiments (ALD/CVD, post-processing) and collect data.
• Perform material characterization to evaluate film quality and uniformity.
• Prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables, and support operation of process tools and lab equipment.
• Generate internal documentation including run logs, SOPs, and summaries for reviews.
• Strictly adhere to EHS protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to process optimization and 2D materials development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in planning and executing experiments (e.g., ALD/CVD, post-processing, and related process development), including data collection, preliminary analysis, and reporting within established safety guidelines.
• Perform material characterization using techniques such as SEM, EDX, Raman, PL, and ellipsometry to evaluate film quality and uniformity.
• Prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables, and support day-to-day operation of process tools and lab equipment.
• Generate clear internal documentation including run logs, SOPs, and summaries for technical reviews and presentations.
• Strictly adhere to EHS protocols, including safe handling of chemicals and gases (e.g., chalcogen precursors), and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to process optimization, tool readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives in 2D materials development.

Technical Skills

• Diploma in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• ≥1-year hands‑on experience in thin film deposition (e.g., ALD, CVD, or thermal processing) is a plus.
• Exposure to 2D materials such as WS2, WSe2, MoS2 or related TMDs is desirable.
• Familiarity with characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, Raman, ellipsometry) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of chemical safety, gas handling, and cleanroom/lab protocols.
