Job summary

The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard guests and colleagues. You will manage the control room, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents, and ensure clear fire exits and corridors at all times.

You will conduct hotel patrols, perform checks at security checkpoints, log items leaving the property, and assist during emergencies. A valid security licence and 2+ years in hospitality are required.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant hospitality industry experience.
• Possesses a valid Security licence.
• Able to perform shift work.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the control room and monitor CCTV at all times.
• Handle all incoming information with confidentiality and forward to the concerned person.
• Provide support in emergencies and accompany guests or staff to authorities/hospital when needed.
• Ensure exits and corridors are free from obstruction at all times.
• Respond to fire/smoke alarms and act accordingly.
• Log items leaving the hotel; issue gate passes and record each item.
• Ensure fire-fighting equipment and emergency lights are functional.
• Conduct patrols around the hotel, driveway and parking areas to detect irregularities.
• Perform random checks on consignments and entrants at security checkpoint; impede pilferage.
• Conduct basic investigations and assist guests and staff during incidents.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

SCOPE

Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Security, the Security Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. He/She must ensure that safety and security measures in the hotel are observed at all times and will respond to first aid incidents and apply effective first aid for guest and team members.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

• Take charge of the control room and monitor CCTV at all times.


• Handle all incoming information etc with confidentiality and forward to the concerned person.


• Provide support in emergency situations and accompany guests or team members to local authorities/hospital if required.


• Ensure that all fire exits and corridors are free from obstruction at all times.


• Respond to any fire/smoke alarms in the hotel and be ready to act accordingly.


• Ensure that gate passes are issued for all items/stock that leave the hotel and each item to be logged in the register book.


• Ensure that all fire-fighting equipment is in good working condition and all the emergency lights are illuminated.


• Conduct patrols in and around the hotel, driveway and parking spaces to detect any irregularities, which may include suspicious behaviour or security breaches.


• Conduct random checks on consignments and team members entering/leaving the hotel and their personal belongings at the security checkpoint to impede pilferage.


• Conduct basic Investigation and Fact-findings and provide assistance to Guests and team members when handling incidents.


• Other ad-hoc duties
