Job summary

NATi, hosted by A*STAR, seeks a highly motivated Scientist in Singapore to lead translational pharmacology programs for obesity and MASH. You will design, execute, and analyze integrated in‑vitro and in‑vivo studies, reporting results to project teams and driving data‑driven decisions.

Ideal candidates have 7–12 years total experience (PhD) or 10–12 years (BSc/MSc) in pharmacology, with strong metabolic disease background and RNA therapeutics familiarity.

Qualifications

• Experience in integrated in vitro and in vivo pharmacology study design and execution.
• Demonstrated data analysis, statistics, and interpretation for translational studies.
• Strong scientific reporting and documentation with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and execute integrated in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies.
• Generate high-quality, decision-enabling data with rigorous design and analysis.
• Present findings at project meetings with accurate documentation and timelines.
• Perform ASO and siRNA transfection studies and assess knockdown.
• Conduct dose–response and time‑course experiments; evaluate potency and durability.
• Assess assay robustness, cytotoxicity and off-target effects.
• Culture metabolic cell models (primary hepatocytes, HepG2, C2C12, 3T3‑L1).
• Develop mechanistic assays for obesity and MASH (lipid, glucose, fatty acid oxidation, Seahorse).
• Perform RT-qPCR/qPCR, Western blot, ELISA/Luminex; extract RNA/protein.
• Maintain IACUC protocols; conduct rodent efficacy and PK/PD studies.
• Manage rodent dosing and metabolic assessments; collect samples for analyses.
• Establish exposure–response relationships to support translational decisions.
• Analyze data with GraphPad Prism, Excel, ImageJ, and qPCR software.
• Prepare high-quality reports and project documentation.
