Job summary

A*STAR Research Entities (A*STAR) in Singapore is seeking a highly motivated scientist to drive interdisciplinary 3D organotypic model development for skin and neurovascular unit systems. You will integrate multiple cell types into microphysiological systems and apply advanced imaging and multi-omics to understand inflammation and aging processes.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biological Science or related field.
• First-author publications in top journals are expected.
• Deep expertise in skin biology or neuroscience with a strong understanding of inflammation and tissue dysfunction.
• Hands-on experience with organ-on-a-chip, stem cell differentiation and gene editing; vascularized/immune-competent tissue models preferred.
• Proficiency in advanced imaging, histology, molecular biology techniques and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments for 3D organotypic model development (hiPSC culture and differentiation).
• Integrate epithelial, stromal, endothelial, immune and neural components into MPSs.
• Characterize tissues using histology, immunostaining, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, qPCR and multi-omics.
• Present data in lab meetings and contribute to manuscript writing.
• Maintain rigorous documentation, data management, safety compliance and overall lab organization.
