Working Hours & Schedule
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00 am to 1:30 pm (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break)
- Fridays: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break)
- Rest Days: Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and all gazetted public holidays.
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a organized, hands-on, and proactive individual to support the daily operational needs of the Science Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Daily Operations: Assist in the daily operations of assigned primary school science laboratories, science gardens, aquaponics, hydroponics systems, and the school pond.
- Laboratory Setup & Maintenance: Manage the setup, clean‑up, and general maintenance of all science laboratories and science experiential areas.
- Lesson Support: Assist science teachers in preparing laboratory apparatus, specialized equipment, and teaching materials for scheduled practical activities.
- Inventory Control: Conduct routine stock‑taking exercises and maintain scientific equipment logs.
- Environmental Upkeep: Oversee the cleanliness of the school’s designated Recycling Corner.
- Administrative Assistance: Perform general administrative support including the typing of worksheets, lesson notes, and scientific protocols.
- Event Logistics: Support and assist the department during school events, activities, and special science programmes.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Execute any other operational duties assigned by the School Administration.
Job Requirements
Interested applicants should possess the following skills, qualifications, and attributes:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Specialized Knowledge: Ability to safely operate electronic science devices and green setups (e.g., hydroponics kits, aquaponics equipment).
- Outdoor Skills: Willing and able to perform hands‑on gardening activities, including weeding, planting, and watering.
- Work Experience: Preferably more than 2 years of relevant experience in a similar laboratory or science assistant position, ideally within a local school environment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with school staff.
