Job summary

Sunnyhill Ace Pte. Ltd. is seeking a diligent Science Room technician to support the teaching environment with hands-on prep, materials, and equipment for lessons, practical activities, and experiments.

The role emphasizes organized inventory, system maintenance, and reliable upkeep of lab resources, along with basic troubleshooting. You will monitor hydroponics systems, assist with science events at the Science Enrich Corner, and collaborate closely with teachers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in a school Science Room, laboratory, or similar educational setting.
• At least 1 year of gardening experience, specifically hydroponics systems.
• Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Good time management, organizational capability, interpersonal skills, and English communication.

Responsibilities

• Resource management of Science Room teaching materials and apparatus.
• Prepare materials and equipment for Science lessons, practical activities, and experiments.
• Maintain cleanliness in the Science Rooms and perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs on lab apparatus.
• Monitor and care for hydroponics systems and gardening equipment.
• Assist teachers with logistics for Science-related events and programmes at the Science Enrich Corner.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Resource Management: Support the procurement, organisation, systematic inventory stock-taking, and overall administrative upkeep of all Science Room teaching materials and apparatus [index: 0.1.34].
• Lesson Preparation: Prepare necessary materials, specialized apparatus, and educational equipment for Science lessons, practical activities, and experiments.
• Maintenance & Repair: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the Science Rooms and perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs on damaged lab apparatus.
• Specialised System Care: Actively monitor, care for, and maintain the school's hydroponics systems and associated gardening equipment.
• Event & Program Support: Assist school teachers in the logistical preparation and smooth execution of Science-related events, school programmes, and activities at the Science Enrich Corner.

Working Hours & Schedule

• Days: Mondays to Fridays
• Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch break)
• Rest Days: Services are strictly not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and all gazetted public holidays

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in a school Science Room, laboratory, or similar educational setting
• Preferred Experience: At least 1 year of experience in gardening, specifically involving hydroponics systems
• Education: A Diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
