Job summary

WSH Experts PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a proactive Laboratory Support Assistant to help maintain science laboratories and prepare materials for practical lessons.

You will assist teachers during lessons, manage stock and inventories of teaching resources, replenish consumables, and ensure safety procedures are followed for all experiments. You will also assist in logistics for science events and perform general administrative duties as directed.

Responsibilities

• Stock-taking and inventory management of teaching resources.
• Preparation and organisation of teaching materials and learning resources.
• Assistance to teachers during lessons by preparing materials and replenishing consumables.
• Maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and readiness of the Science laboratories, preparation room and storage areas.
• Maintaining Science equipment and teaching resources, including cleaning and reporting faults.
• Monitor and replenish consumables and laboratory supplies, and assist in sourcing quotations and purchasing Science resources.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, chemicals and materials are stored, labelled and handled in accordance with safety procedures.
• Assist in conducting regular stock checks and inventory verification of Science equipment and resources.
• Assist in the preparation and logistics for Science-related programmes and events.
• Comply with school policies relating to laboratory safety.
• Perform any other administrative or operational duties assigned by the school.

Job description

The Services required are set out as follows:

• a. Temperature taking of students (when required;
• b. Stock-taking and inventory management of teaching resources;
• c. Collection and management of food waste for the school's recycling programme;
• d. Preparation and organisation of teaching materials and learning resources;
• e. Updating inventory records and maintaining resource databases.
• To prepare, set up and clear away apparatus, equipment and materials for Science and Mathematics practical lessons.
• To assist teachers during lessons by preparing materials, replenishing consumables, and ensuring the smooth conduct of practical activities.
• To maintain the cleanliness, organisation and readiness of the Science laboratories, preparation room and storage areas.
• To maintain Science equipment and teaching resources, including cleaning, checking for wear and tear, arranging repairs where necessary, and reporting faulty or damaged equipment.
• To monitor and replenish consumables and laboratory supplies, and assist in sourcing quotations and purchasing Science resources as required.
• To ensure that laboratory equipment, chemicals and materials are stored, labelled and handled in accordance with school safety procedures.
• To assist in conducting regular stock checks and annual inventory verification of Science equipment and resources.
• To assist in the preparation and logistics for Science-related programmes and events.
• To comply with all school policies relating to laboratory safety.
• To perform any other administrative or operational duties assigned by the school.
