Job summary

Vinayak Scaffold & Services Pte Ltd seeks a school Science Lab Assistant to support primary science lessons in our facilities in Singapore. You will help prepare teaching materials, assist teachers and students with apparatus, and ensure lab spaces are safe and orderly.

Responsibilities include maintaining science rooms and outdoor facilities, managing lab equipment and stock, and supporting administrative tasks as requested by school authorities.

Qualifications

• PSLE English pass.
• At least two years of working experience in a school context as a science lab assistant.

Responsibilities

• Preparing teaching materials and learning activities based on Primary Science syllabus, upon teachers’ requests.
• Assist students in the use of certain apparatus, as directed.
• Assist in preparing training materials to students, parents and staff, as directed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the two Science Rooms, including the preparation room.
• Maintain apparatus in the Science Labs/ Rooms.
• Maintain outdoor Science faculties and equipment in the school (including the ponds, garden, hydroponics system and Integrated Farming Systems).
• Clean and operate food waste system and farming systems (e.g. Integrated Farming system, aeroponics and hydroponics systems)
• Maintain stock check/inventory system on a termly basis.
• Any other administrative task or indoor/outdoor science facilities and equipment maintenance related duties as assigned by the Authority.

Contract Period

From 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027. ( Extendable to Another One Year 1 January 2028 – 31December 2028)

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5.00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays:7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break

Working

• Assist in the preparation of apparatus, equipment and reagents for laboratory lessons.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the two Science Rooms, including the preparation room.
• Maintain apparatus in the Science Labs/ Rooms.
• Maintain outdoor Science faculties and equipment in the school (including the ponds, garden, hydroponics system and Integrated Farming Systems (IFS); aquaponics).
• Clean and operate food waste system and farming systems (e.g. Integrated Farming system, aeroponics and hydroponics systems)
• Maintain stock check/inventory system (e.g, T & L resources, lab equipment's, Sparkle Kits, etc)on a termly basis.
• Any other administrative task or indoor/outdoor science facilities and equipment maintenance related duties as assigned by the Authority.

Qualifications and experience

• At least a pass in PSLE English.
• At least two years of working experience in school context as a science lab assistant.
