Job summary

MIGRANTLINK PTE. LTD. is seeking a motivated Science & Lab Support staff to assist in preparing teaching materials and supervising student use of laboratory apparatus. You will maintain science rooms and related facilities, including outdoor farming systems, and manage related inventory.

The role requires at least two years in a school setting as a science lab assistant, with a PSLE English pass. Regular hours are weekdays with no weekend duties, supporting a smooth learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a school environment as a science lab assistant.
• Able to assist students with apparatus and manage routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare teaching materials, learning activities, and laboratory resources for Primary Science lessons and labs.
• Help students use specific apparatus as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of Science Rooms, prep room, and lab equipment.
• Operate outdoor science and farming systems including ponds, gardens, hydroponics, aquaponics, and food waste systems.
• Conduct termly stock checks and maintain inventory systems for teaching resources and lab equipment.
• Handle ad-hoc administrative and facility maintenance duties as assigned by the Authority.

Job description

Science & Lab Support

• Lesson & Lab Preparation: Prepare teaching materials, learning activities, training resources, and apparatus for Primary Science lessons and laboratory sessions upon request.

• Student Assistance: Help students use specific apparatus as directed.

Facility & Farming System Maintenance

• Indoor Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the two Science Rooms, preparation room, and laboratory apparatus.

• Outdoor Facilities: Maintain and operate outdoor science and farming systems, including ponds, gardens, hydroponics, aquaponics, and food waste systems.

Inventory & Administration

• Stock Management: Conduct termly stock checks and maintain inventory systems for teaching and learning resources, lab equipment, and Sparkle Kits.

• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Handle any other administrative tasks or facility maintenance duties assigned by the Authority.

Working Hours & Schedule

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break).

• Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break).

• Service not required: Weekends and gazetted public holidays.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Education: At least a pass in PSLE English.

• Experience: Minimum of two years of working experience in a school environment as a science lab assistant.
