Job summary

V-SWIFT PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Food Laboratory Assistant to support teachers in the food laboratories, remain in the Preparation Room during lessons, and assist with ordering and preparing ingredients for seven classes.

The role includes ensuring safety, maintaining cleanliness of utensils and areas, handling inventory, and aiding with administration such as checking invoices and tracking ingredient costs, plus other duties related to school kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills to adjust ingredient quantities for different classes.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Knowledge of food ingredients and basic preparation.
• Must have completed or be willing to complete Basic Food Hygiene course.

Responsibilities

• Be in the Teacher’s Preparation Room and food laboratories during working hours.
• Order food ingredients before lessons.
• Prepare ingredients before lessons and ensure safe handling of food.
• Maintain cleanliness of utensils, equipment and food laboratory areas.
• Handle inventory and stock taking of resources (books, utensils, equipment).
• Assist the teacher during practical sessions; ensure students observe safety rules and guide preparation skills.
• Perform administrative duties such as checking and filing invoices and tracking ingredient costs.
• Attend to any other duties related to food laboratories assigned by NFS teachers, SH/NFS, HOD/Craft and Technology and School Leaders.
