Job summary

IBM Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a senior SAP ABAP developer and lead to drive end-to-end ABAP development for S/4HANA projects. You will architect scalable solutions, oversee RICEF objects, and mentor a team through design, build, testing, and deployment stages.

The role requires extensive ABAP expertise, S/4HANA experience, and hands-on work with CDS Views, AMDP, and Fiori/UI5. Strong collaboration with business stakeholders and delivery teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 8-12+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 2-3 years in a lead role.
• Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, DDIC, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, HANA concepts, CDS Views, AMDP, and Fiori/UI5.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP ABAP development across implementations, rollouts, and transformation projects (S/4HANA).
• Architect and design scalable SAP solutions aligned with business goals and SAP best practices.
• Oversee development of RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
• Guide adoption of modern SAP technologies including CDS Views, AMDP, Fiori, and OData services.
• Ensure system performance, code optimization, and adherence to development standards.
• Own technical deliverables, timelines, and quality across SAP development workstreams.
• Participate in solution design workshops and provide technical advisory to clients.
• Manage development lifecycle including design, build, testing, and deployment.
• Drive code reviews, quality assurance, and compliance with IBM delivery frameworks.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 8-12+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 2-3 years in a lead role
• Strong expertise in:

1. ABAP Objects (OOP) and modular programming
2. Data Dictionary (DDIC) and performance tuning
3. ALV Reports, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms
4. Interfaces: IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services

• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and HANA concepts (CDS Views, AMDP)
• Experience leading SAP implementation or transformation projects
• Strong knowledge of integration frameworks and APIs
• Proven ability to design scalable and high-performance SAP solutions
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and SAP Gateway (OData services)
• Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools in SAP
• SAP certifications in ABAP, S/4HANA, or related domains
• Experience across multiple SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, HR)
• Familiarity with cloud-based SAP deployments (RISE with SAP)
