Job summary

MARLIN PLANT ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Safety Coordinator/Scaffolding Supervisor to oversee safety across power-generation, process-plant, construction and maintenance sites. You will lead daily inspections, toolbox talks and risk assessments to protect workers and assets.

The role requires 5+ years in related fields and relevant safety certifications, with strong leadership and communication skills to drive compliance on complex industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Secondary or Higher Secondary education.
• Min. 5 years of relevant Singapore construction, process-plant and industrial-project experience.
• Substantial experience as a Safety Coordinator and Scaffolding Supervisor.
• Experience working at power-generation, oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical and industrial-maintenance sites.
• Relevant training or certification in: Safety coordination; Supervision of metal scaffold erection; Building Construction Supervisors Safety; Work-at-height supervision; Work-at-height assessment; Workplace safety and health supervision in process plants; Confined-space work supervision.
• Valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence where driving duties are included.
• Able to conduct inspections, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Able to prepare basic safety records and reports.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication, coordination and worker-supervision skills.
• Able to work at industrial sites and comply with shift, shutdown and maintenance schedules.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to intervene when unsafe work is observed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workplace safety and health activities at power-generation, process-plant, construction and maintenance sites.
• Conduct daily site inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions and work practices.
• Assist with risk assessments, safe-work procedures, toolbox meetings and pre-work safety briefings.
• Monitor compliance with workplace safety rules, permit-to-work requirements and project procedures.
• Coordinate safe execution of work-at-height, scaffolding and confined-space activities.
• Inspect scaffolding activities and ensure erection, modification and dismantling are performed safely.
• Supervise scaffold workers and verify that scaffolds are properly secured and suitable for their intended use.
• Monitor the correct use of personal protective equipment.
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents and safety violations to project management.
• Assist with incident investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain safety inspection records, training records, permits and other site documentation.
• Liaise with supervisors, contractors, clients and workers regarding safety requirements.
• Support emergency-response drills and site safety campaigns.
• Conduct vehicle and material transportation duties when required.
• Perform other reasonable safety, scaffolding-supervision and site-support duties assigned by management.
