Job summary

WESMECH ENGINEERING PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a qualified WSHO to implement and monitor Workplace Safety and Health management across electrical, mechanical and building maintenance works, ensuring compliance with regulations and client requirements.

You will review risk assessments, permit-to-work, LOTO and work-at-height controls, perform site inspections, lead inductions, investigate incidents, and prepare safety reports for audits and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

  • MOM Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification.
  • Knowledge of WSH Act, RA, PTW, LOTO, Work at Height, and Confined Space regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement WSH Management System and project safety plans.
  • Review risk assessments, safe work procedures, and method statements to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Perform routine site inspections and follow up on corrective actions to maintain safety standards.
  • Administer Permit-to-Work systems to control hazardous work activities.
  • Monitor electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance safety practices to prevent incidents.
  • Conduct safety inductions and toolbox meetings to communicate safety protocols effectively.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate WSH documentation and reports for audit and regulatory purposes.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating site access.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved safe work procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and contractors to foster a safe working environment.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within teams to achieve safety objectives.
  • Communicate clearly and build positive interpersonal relationships to promote safety culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management to support WSH goals.

Required competencies and certifications

  • MOM Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
  • Knowledge of WSH Act, Risk Assessment (RA), Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), Work at Height, and Confined Space regulations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders effectively
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
