S.H. STAINLESS STEEL CONTRACTOR PTE LTD is seeking a Registered WSHO to develop and maintain the company's Workplace Safety and Health policies and management system in line with Singapore WSH legislation.
The role advises management on risk controls, conducts inspections and audits across factory, workshop and project sites, and leads investigations of incidents to drive corrective actions. The successful candidate will coordinate training, incident reporting to authorities, and ensure
1. Develop, implement and maintain the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and management system in accordance with Singapore WSH legislation and regulatory requirements.
2. Advise management on all WSH matters and recommend appropriate measures to eliminate or control workplace safety and health risks.
3. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at the company's factory, workshop and project sites, identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
4. Lead, review and maintain Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and other WSH documentation for fabrication, installation and construction activities.
5. Monitor high-risk activities including:
- Lifting operations and overhead crane activities
- Work at Height (WAH)
- Welding, cutting, grinding and hot works
- Machinery operation
- Material handling
- Lorry crane operations
- Site installation works
6. Ensure lifting equipment, lifting gears, machinery and other applicable equipment are properly inspected, maintained and certified in accordance with statutory requirements.
7. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses, conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
8. Manage and coordinate statutory incident reporting and WSH-related submissions to relevant authorities where required.
9. Conduct and coordinate safety induction, toolbox meetings, safety briefings and WSH training for employees and workers.
10. Monitor employees, subcontractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with company WSH procedures, PPE requirements and client/main contractor safety requirements.
11. Attend project/site safety meetings and coordinate WSH matters with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, main contractors, clients and subcontractors.
12. Maintain all WSH records, including inspection reports, RA/SWP, training records, incident reports, equipment certification, safety statistics and audit documentation.
13. Monitor occupational health hazards such as noise, welding fumes, chemicals and other workplace exposures, and coordinate relevant occupational health programmes where applicable.
14. Develop, implement and review Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and coordinate emergency drills and preparedness activities.
15. Prepare monthly WSH performance reports, accident statistics, safety observations and improvement plans for management review.
16. Conduct internal WSH audits and assist with external audits, client audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.
17. Keep abreast of changes to Singapore WSH legislation, regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and industry requirements, and advise management on necessary actions.
18. Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization and continuously improve the company's WSH performance.
Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
Possess relevant recognised WSH qualifications.
Relevant WSH experience in construction, manufacturing, metal fabrication or engineering environment preferred.
Familiar with Singapore WSH Act, WSH Regulations, Risk Management requirements and relevant Codes of Practice.
Experience in lifting operations, Work at Height, hot works and machinery safety preferred.
Able to conduct accident investigations, safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with management, project teams, supervisors and workers.
