Job summary

ZPMC SOUTHEAST ASIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a Safety Officer with marine/shipyard experience to conduct daily safety checks and coordinate with PSA.

You will inspect equipment, ensure risk assessments and safe work procedures, and support audits, drills and incident investigations. The role requires 5+ years in the field, an Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health, and strong communication with teams and supervisors.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of working experience in marine/shipyard.
• Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health required.
• Computer literate and proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Diligent and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety TBM (DTQC, ARMG, AftSales) WhatsApp photos of teams and attendance to Safety Officer after TBM.
• Submit weekly safety reports to PSA by end of the week, subject to PSA requirements.
• Assess PTW and equipment conditions required for operation (PPE, electrical sets and tools, lifting gear).
• Coordinate with supervisors to maintain good housekeeping at site office, store and working area.
• Ensure risk assessments and Safe Work Procedures are in place before work and observed on site.
• Patrol and station at site areas whenever teams and OEMs perform activities.
• Identify hazards and initiate corrective measures; stop work when necessary.
• Coordinate with Safety Officer on audits, safety promotions, training, drills, incidents, etc.
• Inform Safety Officer if other work matters require attention away from post.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and fall arrest equipment; maintain registers.
• Join PSA/Safety Officer in safety inspections and follow-up findings.
• Extend assistance to other teams at other worksites as required.
• Role, duties & conduct cover all PSA ports if necessary.

Job Content :

• Conduct daily safety TBM (DTQC, ARMG, AftSales) Whatsapp photo of teams and attendance to Safety Officer after TBM.
• Conduct daily inspection and submit a weekly report to PSA by end of the week. (Subject to PSA requirement of submission regularity)
• Assess sections PTW and work equipment conditions that are required to bring to operational area (eg. PPE, electrical sets and tools, lifting gear etc.).
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure site office area, store and operational working area maintain good housekeeping.
• Ensure all activities have Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedure prior commence work and their measures are observed on site.
• Patrol and station full time at site operational area (eg. QC, wharves etc.) whenever sections’ team and OEMs are performing their activities.
• Identify hazards and initiate corrective measures immediately with team supervisor, when necessary, stop work to explore adequate measures with leaders especially high risk activities or unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate and assist Safety Officer on other safety works (eg. ISO / RM auditing, Safety promotion, STO, training, evacuation drill, incident investigation etc).
• Inform Safety Officer when other work matters require your attention elsewhere that may leave your post at the operational area for some duration.
• Inspect periodic Fire extinguishers, Personal Fall Arrestor & Harness etc. and maintain records / registry.
• Coordinate and join PSA / Safety Officer with safety inspections at the worksite and follow through observation or findings.
• Extend assistance to other teams when is required at other worksite (eg. PPT).
• Role, Duties & Conduct cover all ports of PSA if necessary.
