NCS Group is seeking a student intern to assist in the development and integration of robot fleet software, covering indoor robots to autonomous vehicles. You will engage with ROS, RMF, and simulation tools as part of a hands-on team focused on AI-enhanced workflows.
The role emphasizes firmware interfaces, sensor integration, and collaboration with hardware teams to validate software against real robot platforms.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Foundational familiarity with ROS and RMF concepts
- Experience with robot simulation tools (Gazebo)
- Programming in Python and/or Java
- Basic exposure to embedded/firmware development or hardware interfacing a plus
- Interest in agentic AI and autonomous systems
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of software changes to Robot Fleet Manager and Robot Agents
- Contribute to development and maintenance of NCS's robot-agnostic fleet system
- Work with robot communication protocols and simulation tools
- Support the expansion of agentic AI capabilities to improve user workflows
- Interact with physical robot systems as part of software development and testing
- Support firmware-level integration — interfacing software with onboard sensors, controllers, and embedded firmware
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware-software interface issues during fleet integration
