Job summary

Tyson Jay Management Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to design and develop components and systems for advanced hardware products. You will create 3D models and drawings, support prototyping, testing, and production, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software teams.

• Conduct mechanical testing and analyse performance, reliability and failure modes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electrical and software components.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs for quality, cost and manufacturability.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and product performance.
• Maintain technical documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for advanced hardware products
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CAD tools
• Support product development activities from concept, prototyping, testing, and validation through to production
• Conduct mechanical testing and analyse performance, reliability, and failure modes to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs for quality, cost, and manufacturability
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions and product performance
• Maintain technical documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions

Requirements

• Experience in mechanical design, product development, or engineering design environments
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent 3D design platforms
• Exposure to manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, or injection moulding
• Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to solve practical design and integration challenges

Additional Information

• Exposure to robotics, automation, aerospace, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, or other advanced hardware industries will be advantageous
• Experience with FEA, rapid prototyping, testing, or product validation is a plus
