Job summary

YYForce in Singapore is seeking a Robotics Engineer, Perception to enable our robots to understand and respond to real-world environments. You will develop computer-vision capabilities and integrate camera hardware with the robot stack.

Working with manipulation and navigation teams, you will translate visual information into dependable robot actions and support hospitality deployments with real-world testing and edge computing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, AI or related field.
• Knowledge of computer vision, deep learning, and image processing fundamentals.
• Experience with object detection, segmentation, tracking or 3D vision.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer-vision capabilities for object and person detection, tracking, segmentation and pose estimation.
• Build RGB-D and 3D perception pipelines for scene understanding and robotic manipulation.
• Select suitable camera hardware, integrate it with the existing robot stack and maintain the perception system.
• Integrate perception outputs with manipulation, navigation and other robot capabilities.
• Optimize perception pipelines for reliable real-time operation on onboard or edge computers.
• Test and improve perception reliability on physical robots under real-world operating conditions.

About the Role

We are looking for a Robotics Engineer, Perception to enable our robots to understand and respond to real-world environments.

You will develop and integrate computer-vision capabilities for object and person detection, tracking, segmentation, pose estimation and scene understanding. You will also support camera selection and integration while maintaining a reliable perception system for physical robots.

Working closely with manipulation, navigation and embodied AI engineers, you will turn visual information into dependable robot actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop computer-vision capabilities for object and person detection, tracking, segmentation and pose estimation.
• Build RGB-D and 3D-perceptionpipelines for scene understanding and robotic manipulation.
• Select suitable camera hardware, integrate it with the existing robot stack and maintain the perception system.
• Integrate perception outputs with manipulation, navigation and other robot capabilities.
• Optimize perception pipelines for reliable real-time operation on onboard or edge computers.
• Test and improve perception reliability on physical robots under real-world operating conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, AI or a related field.
• Good understanding of computer vision, deep learning and image-processing fundamentals.
• Experience with object detection, segmentation, tracking, pose estimation or 3D vision.
• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Experience with computer-vision and machine-learning frameworks such as OpenCV and Py Torch.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug data, model and system-integration issues.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with RGB-D cameras, depth processing, point clouds or 3D scene understanding.
• Experience selecting and integrating cameras or other perception sensors.
• Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2.
• Experience integrating perception with robotic manipulation or navigation.
• Demonstrable work through deployed systems, technical projects, publications or robot demonstration videos.
