Job summary

Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab in Singapore is seeking a Research Engineer to support hardware design, assembly and control of versatile end effectors for manufacturing lines. You will collaborate with research partners to design, develop, and automate end effectors and contribute to experiments.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s or master’s in engineering with hands-on experience in robotics, CAD, prototyping, and microcontroller/PLC programming, plus strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external research partners to design, develop, and automate end effectors for manufacturing systems.
• Conduct technical investigations into design concepts and manipulation strategies for end effector applications.
• Support prototype development, hardware assembly, and system integration.
• Plan and carry out experimental testing on end effectors using real-world components.
• Analyse test results and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability.
