Job summary

re-zoo-me seeks an Automation Engineer to lead robotics automation, PLC programming, and embedded firmware on our custom hardware. You will own the software architecture for existing products and prototype new robotic systems, collaborating with the operations team during commissioning.

You will program articulated robots, parameterize PLCs, and develop firmware while coordinating on system bring-up, testing, and validation across on-site and remote environments.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably within a product-focused automation or robotics company.
• Demonstrated proficiency in programming articulated robots, with a preference for experience with ABB robots and robot simulation using Robot Studio.
• Understanding of robot coordinates.
• PLC, HMI programming experience ideally Siemens.
• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Hold an academic degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, or an equivalent field of study.
• Familiar with STM32 family controller and RTOS is a plus.
• Able to understand electronic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Robotics Engineering: programming articulated robots, engaging with physical robots and their simulation, and utilizing robot simulation tools to create multi-robot trajectories.
• Code Development: programming and parameterizing PLCs for machines and robots, using ST and Ladder Logic; collaborate with motion design and control for drives and servos; develop embedded firmware on custom hardware.
• Testing and Product Development: develop bug fixes and new automation projects, participate in development, implementation, and testing of new prototypes.
• Commissioning and Troubleshooting: coordinate all automation-related commissioning and PLC tasks at customer locations; collaborate on system bring-up and validation.
• Communication and Connection: create communication pathways to online or edge devices using EtherCAT, OPC, Eip, Modbus, Modbus/TCP, and socket connections; work with SPI, I2C, CAN Bus, and Modbus/RTU.
