Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard and bespoke facility, security and ancillary documentation.
  • Review documents for conditions precedents, covenants, and security provisions.
  • Track document issuance, execution, return and outstanding items end-to-end.
  • Liaise with legal counsels, valuers and custodians to facilitate execution.
  • Support audit, controls and regulatory reviews and process improvements.

Credit Documentation Preparation
  • Prepare standard and bespoke facility, security and ancillary documentation in accordance with approved credit terms and internal requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant conditions precedent, covenants, security provisions and jurisdictional requirements are appropriately incorporated.
  • Conduct necessary due diligence.
  • Support the preparation and issuance of ad hoc documentation, amendments, waivers and other documentation as required.
Documentation Review and Compliance with internal due diligence
  • Review executed documentation to ensure completeness, fulfilment of conditions precedents, collateral perfection and adherence to approved credit terms.
  • Review legal opinions and documentation related advice, assess documentation implications and work with stakeholders to resolve issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Verify compliance with credit approvals and internal requirements.
Documentation Tracking and Security Perfection
  • Manage the end to end tracking of document issuance, execution, return and outstanding items, ensuring timely follow-up and completion.
  • Track for document deficiencies, ensuring that security is perfected as required and escalates as per internal guidelines.
Stakeholders Coordination and Business Support
  • Independently liaise with internal and external stakeholders including legal counsels, valuers, and custodians) to facilitate documentation execution and collateral perfection.
  • Provide timely support and guidance to Front Office and internal stakeholders on documentation related matters and requirements.
Documentation Custody and Record Maintenance
  • Ensure timely lodgment, safekeeping and maintenance of documentation and credit files.
Controls and Governance
  • Perform periodic reviews and control checks on security documentation and collateral records.
  • Support audit, compliance and/or regulatory review activities where required.
Projects and Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in projects, system enhancements, UATs and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the review and enhancement of procedures, guidelines and documentation templates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Business or a related discipline preferred
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a credit documentation role in a similar environment
  • Experience in private banking documentation is advantageous
  • Experience with real estate financing, securities-backed lending, premium financing and related collateral documentation will be highly beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of credit and security documentation within a banking environment
  • Ability to independently manage documentation processes and resolve issues with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess legal and documentation risks
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong control mindset
