Job summary

OCBC Bank in Singapore seeks an Associate to support the implementation and maintenance of risk, compliance, and governance frameworks while assisting Relationship Associates with onboarding and documentation management.

You will contribute to operational risk and BCM activities, data governance, and reporting while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and risk culture.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage operational and regulatory risk.
• Experience coordinating with Internal Audit, ORM, and Compliance units.
• Experience maintaining risk governance documentation.
• Knowledge of BCM, data governance, and governance standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Validate operational and regulatory risks documented in the department's Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for new and existing processes, ensuring consistency and alignment across department where applicable.
• Monitor compliance with key controls established to mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
• Assist in identifying control gaps and tracking corrective actions to ensure timely remediation of risk, audit, and regulatory findings.
• Act as a liaison with Internal Audit, External Audit, Operational Risk Management (ORM), Regulatory Compliance Unit (RCU), and other second-line functions, ensuring timely closure of action items.
• Support the maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, risk registers, and governance documentation.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the department's Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure operational resilience during disruptions.
• Coordinate periodic reviews, testing, and updates of BCP documentation to ensure plans remain current, viable, and aligned with business requirements.
• Document BCP exercises, findings, and remediation actions arising from continuity testing.
• Conduct data quality reviews and validation checks to ensure compliance with the Group Data Management and Governance Framework.
• Support the implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures within the department.
• Monitor data quality metrics, identify issues, and coordinate remediation efforts with relevant stakeholders to improve data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Operational Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance Unit, and other stakeholders on the implementation of new policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
• Support the development and delivery of risk, compliance, and governance awareness programmes for staff.
• Promote a strong risk and compliance culture through ongoing communication, education, and engagement initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain periodic reports, dashboards, and management information relating to operational risk, compliance monitoring, audit issues, data governance, and business continuity activities.
• Track action plans and provide regular updates to management on compliance initiatives, outstanding issues, and remediation progress.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of data for management reporting, regulatory reviews, and governance committees where applicable.
• Identify opportunities to improve compliance monitoring, testing, reporting, and governance processes.
• Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects aimed at streamlining workflows, enhancing controls, and improving operational efficiency.
• Support the redesign and enhancement of compliance testing, reporting, and governance processes to drive greater effectiveness and productivity.
• Support Relationship Associates (RAs) and business teams in client onboarding, account maintenance, periodic reviews, and documentation management activities.
