Job summary

OCBC in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Management Specialist to lead thematic reviews and risk-based improvements. You will work with stakeholders to identify cross-cutting control weaknesses and ensure robust risk management across business lines.

You will provide independent challenge, prepare governance reports, and drive remediation actions to strengthen organisational resilience and risk posture.

Qualifications

• Min. 10 years of experience in operational risk or related fields within banking
• Strong understanding of banking products, processes, controls and risk governance
• Experience leading thematic reviews, assurance reviews or audits
• Proven ability to identify root causes and remediation actions
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and presenting risk insights
• Independent, organized, able to manage multiple reviews concurrently

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, prioritisation and delivery of thematic reviews aligned to the organisation's risk profile
• Identify cross-cutting control weaknesses, risk hotspots, systemic trends and red flags
• Provide independent second-line challenge and practical risk-based actions to address concerns
• Analyse patterns, root causes and emerging indicators to anticipate adverse trends
• Prepare clear, concise reports for senior management and governance forums
• Track review outcomes and ensure timely remediation
• Continuously improve the thematic review methodology and reporting standards
• Lead or participate in cross-functional risk initiatives to improve practices
