Job summary

CHEE SONG FOODS PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Retail Store Associate to operate POS and backend systems, assist customers, and manage meat stock with care. You will greet customers, explain origins and cooking tips, and promote loyalty promotions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate POS and backend systems using a laptop to process payments (Cash, NETS, Credit Cards).
• Greet customers, handle inquiries, and assist with heavy purchases to customer vehicles.
• Introduce new arrivals, seasonal specials, and loyalty promotions; share meat origin, cuts, and cooking tips.
• Assist in replenishing heavy meat stock and ensure display hygiene and quality.
• Perform cash float verification at shift start and settlements at day end.

Job description

• Efficiently operate our Point-of-Sale (POS) and backend systems using a laptop to process, accept, and verify various payment methods (Cash, NETS, Credit Cards).

• Greet customers warmly, handle inquiries professionally, and assist customers by wheeling/carrying their heavy purchases out and loading them directly into their cars.

• Actively introduce new arrivals, seasonal specials, and member loyalty promotions. Share insights unique to our meat selection (e.g., origins, cuts, cooking tips) and confidently recommend complementary items.

• Assist in replenishing heavy meat stock on shelves and freezers, ensuring products are displayed according to strict quality and hygiene standards.

• Perform cash float verification at the start of shifts and daily cash/credit settlements at the end of the day.

Requirements

• Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 25kg for frozen/chilled meat stock replenishment and loading items into customer vehicles.

• Comfortable using laptop for basic applications/running store systems, and good with simple mathematics.

• Fluency in English, Chinese, and Malay to effectively assist our diverse range of neighborhood customers.

• Ability to work shift schedule, including weekends and Public Holidays. (Fixed rest day will be on Tuesdays).

• Confident communicator, service-oriented, friendly, and enjoys interacting with different people daily.

• Minimum Secondary School education or equivalent.
