Job summary

WSP CONSULTANCY PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced site supervisor to oversee construction works under the Building Control Act.

The role requires ensuring quality, alignment with contract documents, and timely execution on site. You will review shop drawings, monitor materials and equipment, and coordinate with the Superintending Officer/Consultant. The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least eight years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a Polytechnic or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a RTO, including 5+ years in supervision of major construction works.
• Accreditation with the Joint Accreditation Committee of the IE Singapore and ACE Singapore is preferred.
• Certificate in Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course.

Responsibilities

• Supervise site works in line with contract documents, drawings and approved plans.
• Check shop drawings and as-built drawings submitted by the contractor for discrepancies.
• Maintain quality control and ensure works comply with specifications and timelines.
• Prepare defect lists, monitor rectification progress and record site daily reports.
• Inspect equipment, maintain permits and ensure safety compliance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act.
• To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents and site instructions.
• To check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person as stated below:

1. Check shop drawings submitted by contractor.
2. Check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual submitted by contractor.

• To check on quality of materials and samples delivered to site and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications.
• To check mock-ups done on site, where necessary.
• To ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary.
• To prepare defect lists, monitor progress of rectification works and ensure all defects are satisfactorily rectified.
• Write daily reports of works done by contractor and record daily manpower status on site.
• Inspect and maintain records of equipment/machinery/licensed machinery operator/permits (both statutory and aviation requirements).
• To ensure that the structural elements or critical works of the construction works are being carried out in accordance with the approved plans and with any terms and conditions imposed by the Commissioner of Building Control where necessary.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a Polytechnic or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a RTO, of which at least5 years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works in buildings, services laying and lighting & control systems.
• Accreditation with the Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore are preferred.
• Certificate in Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course.
