Job summary

ARUP SINGAPORE PRIVATE LIMITED invites a Resident Technical Officer (Civil and Structural) for a contract role on a prestigious hotel project in Singapore. The successful candidate will supervise civil and structural works, ensure compliance with project specs, and monitor progress on site and off-site facilities.

Applicants should hold an IES-ACES-accredited RTO Practising Certificate with at least 8 years’ experience in RC steelwork, A&A, and related civil/external works.

Qualifications

  • Accredited with IES-ACES and holds a valid RTO Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as Resident Technical Officer.
  • Experience supervising RC steelwork, A&A works; civil/external works advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision for construction works in accordance with project specs and regulations.
  • Perform quality control for civil, structural and architectural works.
  • Monitor site progress and reporting delays promptly.
  • Maintain records of works, materials, equipment and contractor schedules; ensure site safety.
  • Assist in managing the site office: filing, seating, security and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide standing supervision and communicate instructions to contractors.
  • Check drawings and documents; report discrepancies.

Resident Technical Officer (Civil and Structural)

We have a vacancy to be a part of a prestigious Hotel project in Singapore. As a Resident Technical Officer (RTO), you will assist in supervising the construction of civil and structural works. You will ensure that all activities comply with project specifications and Building Control regulations, supporting the efficient execution of construction tasks.

This is a contract position.

  • Providing supervision for construction works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations
  • Quality control of all civil, structural and architectural works
  • Monitor progress of the works on site and any off-site manufacturing facilities as well as report delays immediately
  • Support in maintaining records of works, materials, equipment, and contractor schedules, ensuring site safety and compliance
  • Help manage the site office, ensuring cleanliness, proper filing systems, seating arrangements, office security, and maintenance of office equipment
  • Provide standing supervision as and when required by contractor and provide full support in communicating instructions and ensuring that works are carried out accordingly
  • Check drawings, documents and report discrepancies.
Is this role right for you?
  • Accredited with IES-ACES with a valid Resident Technical Officer (RTO) Practising Certificate
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as Resident Technical Officer
  • Experience in supervision of Reinforced Concrete (RC) Steelwork, Addition and Alteration (A&A) works
  • Experience in supervision of civil/external works will be an added advantage
  • Familiar with local regulations/codes for Civil & Structural related to building projects
  • Able to resolve site and technical issues, prepare and document detailed site progress reports
  • A good team player with effective communication skills and experience in assisting Resident Engineer in supervision works
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Expected start date of employment: October 2026.
