Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking an on-site Network Technician to support and execute hardware changes for network devices, including installation and cable preparation, under change requests.

You will troubleshoot during change activities, provide console setup as needed, and coordinate with implementation engineers and partners to resolve faults quickly.

The role focuses on continuous improvement of infrastructure monitoring and fault reduction within the Singapore operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with installing and replacing switch hardware.
• Familiarity with Juniper MX-series routers and EX-series switches.
• Ability to label and organize cables for replacements.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site hardware changes and device installation.
• Troubleshoot issues during change implementation with minimal disruption.
• Provide console setup during planned activities.
• Coordinate with implementation engineers, stakeholders, providers, and partners.
• Identify areas for improvement to reduce faults and improve monitoring.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• On-site Network Hardware Support: Execute hardware changes, including the physical replacement and installation of network devices, plugin of USB media, organize the fibre/copper cables in preparation for planned activities and other equipment as per change requests.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues encountered during change implementation with existing hardware and consoles, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Console Setup: Provide console connection as needed during planned activities.
• Communications: Liaise and coordinate with implementation engineers, internal stakeholders , providers, and partners to ensure swift and efficient resolution of faults
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvements to reduce Infrastructure faults and improve monitoring capability.

Requirements:

• Understand and work with network devices and their components, including fibre and copper cables.
• Juniper routers (mx-series) and Juniper switches (ex-series)
• Activities involved will be as follows:
• i. Switch replacement
• Includes labelling all the current cables in preparation for the replacement, unplug cables, unmount old switch, mount new switch, connect back the cables
• ii. Routing Engine & Control Board Replacement
• iii. MPC (Line Card) Replacement
• Includes labelling all the currently connected cables in preparation for the replacement, remove old MPC, slot new MPC, connect back cables
