Job summary

Bureau Veritas Buildings & Infrastructure Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced Civil/Structural Site Supervisor to oversee civil works, monitor construction methods, and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and Singapore regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Accredited as QSS under IES/ACES.
• Accredited as RE under IES/ACES accreditation framework.
• Minimum 4 years of civil/structural engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervising similar civil/structural works with geotechnical/excavation experience.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction regulations and site supervision requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect civil and structural works to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Monitor site progress, construction methodology, workmanship, and material quality.
• Ensure works comply with Building Control Act and codes of practice.
• Review method statements, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, client reps, and authorities on technical/site matters.
• Witness site inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
• Maintain accurate site records and supervision documentation.
• Identify/report construction issues, non-conformances, and project risks.
• Assist in resolving technical/site coordination issues during construction.
• Supervise and guide site supervision personnel including RTOs where required.
• Attend project meetings and provide progress updates on site.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect civil and structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, and contract documents.
• Monitor site progress, construction methodology, workmanship, and material quality.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the Building Control Act, relevant codes of practice, and project requirements.
• Review contractors' method statements, shop drawings, work procedures, and technical submissions.
• Monitor and inspect geotechnical and deep excavation works, including temporary earth retaining structures where applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, client representatives, and relevant authorities on technical and site matters.
• Witness site inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
• Ensure contractors comply with workplace safety and health regulations.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, site instructions, and supervision documentation.
• Identify and report construction issues, non-conformances, and potential project risks.
• Assist in resolving technical and site coordination issues during construction.
• Supervise and guide site supervision personnel, including Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) where required.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on construction progress and site-related matters.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification recognised in Singapore.
• Accredited as a Qualified Site Supervisor (QSS) under the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of IES/ACES.
• Accredited as Resident Engineer (RE) under the IES/ACES accreditation framework.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising similar civil and structural works.Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and deep excavation works.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction regulations, codes of practice, and site supervision requirements.
