Job summary

NTU's Centre of Hardware Assurance (CHA) on the PACE team is seeking a researcher to advance hardware security for embedded systems. The role focuses on integrating Post-Quantum Cryptography and Quantum Key Distribution within IoT and silicon platforms.

The candidate should hold a PhD or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering with 6–8 years of research experience and strong coding skills (C/Java/Python/VHDL). Experience with oscilloscopes and lab equipment is required.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant research experience in hardware security.
  • Experience with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) or Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
  • Proficiency in programming in C, Java, Assembly, Python, or VHDL.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate embedded microcontrollers and implementations of cryptography algorithms, including PQC and QKD.
  • Develop and test non-invasive and semi-invasive hardware security research methods for embedded and IoT systems.
  • Design and execute experimental frameworks for device setup and data analysis to assess hybrid quantum-security architectures.
  • Provide technical evaluations and recommendations to collaborators to improve hardware IP security posture.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to meet international research standards and security frameworks.
  • Lead dissemination of findings through publications and conference presentations.
  • Identify emerging hardware-forensics threats and contribute to mitigation strategies for silicon-level trust.
