Job summary

NTU's Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) invites applications for a Research Scientist to advance Green AI and sustainable AI models in Singapore.

You will conduct cutting-edge research on efficient training, inference, and deployment of large language and multimodal foundation models, publish in top venues, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver real-world sustainability solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI/CS/ML/NLP/Data Science or related discipline.
• Proven track record in Green AI and efficient ML.
• Proficiency with Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in Green AI focusing on efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of large AI models.
• Design and develop novel algorithms for efficient training, inference, retrieval, and deployment of LLMs and multimodal foundation models.
• Develop AI technologies that contribute to sustainability applications.
• Publish research findings in leading AI conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners to deliver innovative Green AI solutions.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to research proposal development and strategic initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research background in Large Language Models (LLMs), Green AI and efficient machine learning, LLM-based Agents, Distributed AI systems and scalable model serving, etc
• Strong publication records in reputable journals/conferences
• Strong programming skills in Python and modern AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
