The Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) represents a key collaboration between Alibaba Group and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Supported by the Singapore RIE2025 Fund, ANGEL creates and deploys impactful green digital technologies for global sustainability.

We are seeking an outstanding Research Scientist to join our Green AI research team. You will conduct cutting‑edge research on efficient and sustainable artificial intelligence technologies, advancing the development of foundation models that are both high-performing and environmentally responsible. You will work closely with interdisciplinary researchers and engineers to develop novel AI algorithms, publish in top‑tier venues, and translate research innovations into real‑world sustainability solutions.
Conduct research in Green AI, with a focus on improving the efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of large AI models.
Design and develop novel algorithms for efficient training, inference, retrieval, and deployment of large language models (LLMs) and multimodal foundation models.
Develop AI technologies that contribute to sustainability applications.
Publish research findings in leading AI conferences and journals
Collaborate with internal and external research partners to deliver innovative Green AI solutions.
Mentor junior researchers and contribute to research proposal development and strategic initiatives.
Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
Strong research background in Large Language Models (LLMs), Green AI and efficient machine learning, LLM-based Agents, Distributed AI systems and scalable model serving, etc
Strong publication records in reputable journals/conferences
Strong programming skills in Python and modern AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face).
Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
